Men’s Volleyball Final: Italy vs Brazil
Sunday 17:15
After making easy work of Russia in the semi-finals, Brazil have reached a fourth Olympic final in a row.
Despite losing the finals in Beijing and London, expect the Carioca partizan crowd to give the team a needed lift as they go in search of the host countries sixth gold medal…
Italy, meanwhile, booked their spot in the final for the first time since Atlanta 1996 following their thrilling win over USA.
USA, gold medal winners in Beijing, were 2-1 up after the third set but Italy took control from that point on, winning the next two to secure the dramatic victory.

An important side note going into Sunday’s final is Italy’s scalp of Brazil in the group stages with a 3-1 win. Group stage results can often lead to a psychological edge in such short format competitions, and if Italy can start strong and silence the crowd we could be on for a shock on the volleyball court.

Boxing: Men’s +91kg Gold Medal Fight – Tony Yoka vs Joseph Joyce
Sunday 19:15
After a fantastic showing at London 2012, Team GB’s boxing team in Rio have been one of the only few to disappoint. Jo Joyce is a stand out exception in this case, and after winning his semi-final 2-1 on Friday night, the super-heavy weight comes up against a tricky opponent in France’s Tony Yoka.
Yoka looked very beatable in his semi-final against Filip Hrgovic, and although Yoka looked the more stylish the Croatian was the more affective with his bruising hooks causing damage.
After taking a tumble on his ankle in the last round it’s hard to know if Yoka will come into the final at 100%, with Joyce perhaps using this to his advantage trying to limit the movement of the talented Frenchman.
Joyce has shown his ring craft in all his bouts so far, and if he can pin Yoka down and strike with a barrage of effective punches it should be another gold for Team GB.
